Kiss of Death is a 1995 crime thriller film starring David Caruso, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicolas Cage, and Helen Hunt. The film is a very loosely-based remake of the 1947 film noir of the same name with Richard Widmark and Victor Mature. Barbet Schroeder did not want to even call this film, “Kiss of Death”, he wanted to call it “The Taste of Metal”. It was entirely shot on location in New York, mostly in Queens. It was screened out of competition at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.
